Oryza was born with the idea of fully understand and exploit a product and its original region. The project was born from the will of Vercellone Family who, with his own Azienda Agricola Tenuta Castello, produces since 1833 first-rate Rice, respecting the naturalness of the product, the environment and the tradition. Even today the Rice is traditionally worked with old machinery, according to the same model of the old rice-farms.

Beginning from the name (Oryza is the scientific name of the plant), every single detail has been thought to recall the awesomeness of this culture: the tables (each one is different from the others) whose top has curios images created with corns; the layout of the menus, in a corn shape; the poster on the walls, original advertisements from the '30s and the 60's.

In 2005 the first Oryza Restaurant was opened in the Desana Castle (VC). The development of the project has been shared by Renato Collodoro who, in 2006, opens the second Restaurant in Turin. |
